Re: Verve v0.99z - discussion

AHHHH, I see! That's ironic, haha. This is because there's a new, experimental interaction between layers, especially designed for Additive (+) and Multiply (*) paint modes, which can see the paint on layers below!
If you have an empty layer under your new layer, just go to the lower layer and paint once and undo or clear again. Now go into the new layer and this will not happen.
Great find! I absolutely missed that this would happen, hehe. :hihi:
No worries, all this will be gone in the next release, I promise!
But just so you know, this is because it picks up the "colors" from the layer below and if nothing had ever initialized that lower layer, it only sees 0 (black). :ud:
Thank you for showing this to me! :ob

Re: Verve v0.99z - discussion

...and there was a v0.99w09. :PP
Yes, I'll have to retrieve this from my old machine, but that won't be a problem. I have changed and improved so many things so deeply now in the v1.0 alpha versions that it won't be really necessary. But still... dang it!
It's been a long time and I'm thrilled to be back for real! :hyper:

All will be well!

Re: Verve v0.99z - discussion

The alpha map did not work very well if I export selected layer by ctrl+s. - Alpha is not transparent in unpainted/unfilled areas.

Re: Verve v0.99z - discussion

I still don't have proper internet here, but I'll have a look. I really think I'll create and release a free version of my v1.0 once it's done. Everything should be pretty excellent then! 8-)

Re: Verve v0.99z - discussion

 Oh wow, I've never seen that before. Any recent changes to your graphics drivers or settings? Certainly looks like something outside of Verve itself.
But, yeah, that is a fascinating issue?!
Maybe you can tell me about your computer, what graphics card most of all. Certainly would be interesting. :geek:
Thanks for asking, though, that's great! :ob ...we'll get on top of it together, no doubt.

Re: Verve v0.99z - discussion

 pud! :hihi: Trust me, you don't want this! :uhuhuh:

...yeah, that looks like the material paint shader fails, like something with the GL gets confused. Instead of the brush properly blitting to the material channel, it just leaves a fullscreen blob, while the color channels appear to work fine. I can't even imagine how this happens, but I also can't imagine that it's something Verve does "wrong". Something's fishy with your system somehow?! If anything, I had to clean up my GL code for everything to run on the Radeons, who are far more aggressive for any weird nonsense in Shaders than NVidia.

I wonder if anyone else has ever encountered such a thing?
Who else may be using the NVidia 1660? Maybe it's a new weirdness?

Re: Verve v0.99z - discussion

Hang on, which version are you using?
Is it v0.99z? Because the previous version had some sloppiness in the GL that used to be no problem, but became one with newer generations of cards! :geek:
