Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Hi Taron
So with the current 32 bit version of Verve, the canvas resolution limit will be the same when using an 8GB RTX 2080 Super than when using an 11GB RTX 2080ti???
please do somebody owns any of the RTX nvidia's models that could post their max resolution canvas able to created, saved, and reopened/loaded???
I even created a post on the NVIDIA forum https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/fo ... uld-perfo/
Taron I was wondering about that new Verve version that could overcome that sort of 32bit save and load bottleneck, do you expect to release it in 2020 or do you think that that may come in the longer term?
I ask cuz I'm deciding if it's worthy to spend almost double cash to buy an 11GB gpu instead of an 8GB gpu.
Sorry for the long absent, greetings to all forum people, I hope to paint again in Verve but with canvases larger than 2000px x 2000px.
Many Thanks Advanced.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Right from the top of my hat I would recommend going with 8Gb, if it's half the price, because GFX cards are still evolving FAST. If you spend too much on a card right now, only a year from now you may regret it. I can't commit to any date as to when I will upgrade Verve to handle larger files right now, but it is still part of the plan along with great many other things. However, if you are planning on using other apps that may benefit from large GPU memory, well...
I can only envy anyone, who can purchase anything these days. Congratulations on whatever you may decide. I'm sure it will bring you joy! :ob

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Hi Taron, yes I thought too about that half the price advantage
I saw another fellow member of this forum asked you about the app you are developing for a business
can I ask too about the business app that your are developing? basically in which state is it?
When you say there is not date for a "32bit canvas limit" fix update of Verve, I asume it won't be anytime of 2020, but perhaps 2021.
I even posted on the NVIDIA forum, I edited my last question.
Many thanks advanced man.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

I might move our little conversation to a different place, but THANKS for asking!
We're virtually done with our project and it's for designing flat patterns for garment construction, basically creating sewing patterns. It's in all likelihood the easiest, most approachable software to do so and should get people quite excited, both hobbyists and professionals for that matter. My wife is a certified master pattern maker, who had to work with some of the most advanced software solutions and they all...eh.... are dreadful. So she actually decided to learn programming herself to come up with easier ways to do all that and actually have fun with it, too. I then joined in for the complicated stuff, and complicated it has been. You wouldn't believe the routines I had to write, but they do a whole bunch of magical things, making the trickiest tasks feel easy to tackle. The software has tremendous depth. Oh, and she designed the whole GUI, writing most of it herself and did an incredible job, too. I'm super proud of her! :hyper:
It's cross platform and we will eventually even go mobile with it after the windows and mac release. In the meantime I'm creating our website, figuring out all the customer care stuff, which is surprisingly fascinating by itself. Lemi has helped us a great deal with information and encouragement, by the way! Hey, Lemi:  ...always! :ob
But, yeah, we're in a massive adventure and we're just about up the first big mountain. We shall see where it will take us, but we've got more great plans for it already as soon as things are rolling. So much work, it's pretty insane. Tutorial videos, social media presence, proper documentation, all smooth, dependable and exciting. I've had to wear many hats in my life and this time I've got them stacked pretty high, too, but I'm finally no longer alone with it and can focus more on the magic behind it all. That's where I'm happiest, really.
However, once we have a proper amount of subscribers and we come into our groove of keeping them happy, I'll resume with Verve for sure, too! Too many things I want to put into it and fundamental stuff to solve, but I'm thrilled about it, too! :D

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Thank you very much, Ed, Merry Christmas to you, too, and your entire family!
Oh yes, that's a good idea, too, I will make an OFF Topic post for it, once we've released. I'm excited about the website, too. I think, it looks snazzy, hehehe! Been a while that I made one and there are still some things I'm learning right now regarding the back end (MySQL and all that jazz).
Our software is for everybody, of course, almost undermining the clothing industry in a way, but it's not unlikely that even they will pick it up, because it is so pleasant and quick to use. But for them we will have to add a few more things later on, which won't matter much to the home sewers and boutiques, who are our main target.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Hi Taron please tell us,
what do you think about this new NVIDIA market movement throwing their new RTX 30 series at low cost?
Most common reviewers are saying that 4k gaming is finally making sense, do you think time for fluid painting in large canvases is coming too?
I mean since the technology is coming more affordable, wouldn't it be sign for more young people throwing at it? please tell us your thoughts.
Thanks advanced.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Wooooot?
...that might even give me a chance to get a decent graphics card again! :hyper:
Well, one pretty amazing thing about Verve is that it grows with the hardware, except for the 32bit file IO limitation right now. But I yet have to explore a different "banking" concept, which should eliminate any loading or saving issues, even with 32bit.
As for the graphics themselves, again, Verve simply grows with the hardware. If the hardware handles 100.000x100.000, Verve will go with it just like that.
I can't wait to go back at Verve, because I've learned so much in the last few years and have so many ideas, knowing that Verve is the platform to realize them perfectly. It is pretty save to feel excited about what's to come in that regard! Now we just have to keep our nerves, stay strong and get through the insanity out there. Under the surface, great things are brewing that will make the time after it all grow into the best time yet! :)

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Looking forward to upgrading to a least Ryzen 4th gen and a Nvidia 3080 this year, so I can put VRV through it's paces.
