Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Oh - my mistake. Not CPU, it's one core on 100%
Starting verve puts idle to 12-16% CPU usage.
ONe core is on almost 100%, at my test in this minute there are two cores (maybe one HT) on 90-100%
Without drawing.
3930k 6 core on Asus P9x79 @ 4,1Ghz

Hmmh, i noticed something like that too actually ... When Verve is minimized the workload drops to zero.
When Verve is activ but idle, i have one core at 100% and another at ~60%, pretty much stabil 16% use.
Then, when i apply paint with either of the brushes between #2 and #5 the load actually drops to 12% for as long as i apply paint, then goes back to 16% when i release.
Brushes #1,#6,#7 and #8 increase the load during drawing to 18%.
Having the canvas liquifyed ([d]) or not does not seem to make a difference.
The one core at 100% doesn't seem to care no matter what i do.

Just saying, i ofcause do not mind my CPU working, to me this means that there are 80% wasted that should be doin even more crazyness

I have just installed windows 7 on my macbook pro using bootcamp and Verve runs like a dream!

Yeah, I wonder what that is, too. In a way I do understand, but it's tough for me to regulate that, because of the fluids. They want to run the whole time, you know, but if I let them, they'll do just that... run run run... if I didn't, they'd just stall. It could very well be, that if I used a proper windows event hook, I could change all that. But it'll be another major rework to fit that in. I'll do it eventually, yet, I'm not exactly sure, if that would change anything about that.
AH well...just a bit of power consumption, hehe!

Back in verve v.99e I mentioned all the errors I had using this card, I can report now that it works perfectly (just tried v.99r)

I have a mid 2012 macbook pro 15 inch running win8 in bootcamp. Here are the deets my computer belched out when I commanded it to do so! Verve runs pretty well so far, I have largely only been playing around with it at the default start-up res and everything seems snappy and no real lag. I think any little issues I may have from time to time are the fault of Windows and it's utterly woeful support for high DPI screens! I run verve windowed at 2880 x 1800. The fan has fun while verve is running, but so do I

Suddenly I appreciate the 3 settings you can adjust on the Intel HD 4000 in expert mode, hahahaha!
Well, I don't know and I don't think you can improve the performance with changing these settings, but you may try and then let us know!?
