Playing around with Forum Styles...

I hope you all don't mind that I play around with forum styles for a moment. I give each one a go for a while, I think, but I kind of like this one already. My eyes, however, don't like it all that much, because it's very thinly lined and tough to read for me, I'm afraid, but then...it's kind of pretty and humble at the same time.

What do you think?

There are a whole bunch of free phpBB styles with a bunch of nice ones, I think. One always has to get used to a forum, for some reason, they're never perfect right away.

Anyway, I hope you don't mind me changing things around a little... I mean, it's just visuals, of course.

Ahahaha, yeah... ...it suggests that, that's right! Wasn't even thinking about that!
If only I had the time and patience to dig through the forum code and see, if I can replace the "gif" calls with "png" for where I wanted it.

Anyway, I'm VERY HAPPY to hear that! I really like it, too!

The board index picutres come into their own on the paper background, too.
... Not sure about the green text, though?

Maybe, ... dark brown? ... Dunno, ... the red and black give nice contrast, anyway
Maybe give it a day ... i'll have to adjust ... my brain can't even handle the mirrored avatars right now

This green don't have a good contrast.
There is a blue and a brown CA Vintage theme also, you know?

Compare thumbnails and you'll see that blue has a little advantage in contrast which makes topics easiest to read:

The mess is. Blue is not as nice as green...
So what about just darken the green a bit?

Takes a good moment to figure all this out. It's a little wacky. Fortunately I agree completely! Thanks for the links, but oddly enough there were useless. Somehow the brown style was not a brown style download...it was the same as the original. No idea what goes wrong there. So I had to colorize it myself. Hopefully this works...

Hihi, had a brief moment of fun with the background texture of the forum. I made a canvas version, as you hopefully can see. I think it should fit the idea a bit better. However, it's kind of ironic that the forum has it, but the software doesn't, hahaha.... YET!!!

Awwyeah, i like this all very much today, very dovelike and homey already.
Everything is fine to read, as well!

HAHA, Thats so funny, i was just about to say that, seeing Knacki's avatar right next to the background i actually like the papyrus style and beige color better than the lined paper.
And now after the page refresh the background changed already ... as if ... you read my mind?

It does not have to be written in stone, anyway? ... i would not mind it to be dynamic and change with the seasons

The only thing that still bothers me are the user [Online] icons?
They seem to fall out of place, somewhat. ... If one would want to get picky
