Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Hey!

Love working with Verve. I graduated with a degree in computer science and the passion I can sense is put in to your work is inspiring. I have never painted, and I am quite a terrible artist (my Sonic the Hedgehog drawings are on point though). Either way, I thought I'd share my first piece with Verve. Cheers!

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Sweet! Nice tough with the ribbon for sure! Seems like you have a knack for composition! 8-)
WELCOME to the forum, first of all! You certainly know how to make a good first impression and I'm looking forward to more from you. Did you do a Sonic sketch with Verve, yet?

Anyway, Verve is definitely a whole lot more passion than anything else, haha, but it takes a good spectrum of disciplines to make it all happen. I breaking into several new grounds for myself as I expand and design its features, but it's a massive amount of fun, for sure! It would make me very happy Verve inspires you on that front as well! :geek: :ob

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

I really like everyone's artworks here. I took the plunge myself and so here it is, my first bit of messing about with Verve. I'm not entirely sure what it's meant to be but hey, I was creative :)

I think it's meant to be some sort of dragon-like creature, but iono.

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Hey spacecookie ( ), welcome to the forum and that sure looks dragon like! Looks like the corner of some Asian pagoda of sorts. Would make a very cool painting to see the whole thing! ...but a heck of a lot of work, too, so...eh...never mind! :?
I've made a dragon like creature with 3 eyes once upon a time as a little "morning exercise" when I was still working in LA, hehe. I think, I have it on my website still. Man, that stuff is ancient.
Anyway, welcome...

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Thanks Taron I just wish I knew it better, but that's the objective here, all beginner pictures ^_^

I would like to work on it more but I'm not sure how to squish around the digital paint from verve at this point :)

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Oh no, I'd leave this one as it is and just move on to build up your gallery thread! ;)
You'll figure out how to deal with Verve and make use of its nature. The next version (yadda yadda) will have proper masking, where you can gain even more control, but there are plenty of ways to keep working on images without destroying what's there! :)

Hi,

I spent Sunday watching some of the videos and fighting with the controls. :-)

Trying to smudge...

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

:o ...oh man, I sense a great artist joining the pack! :bounce:
Yeah, I know, it's a little weird at first, which is why the upcoming version is a little moderated by default, making it a lot easier to paint and blend or rather draw and blend with the addition of a new default mode. Also the fluids have a new parameter that adds another really neat layer of control and improved behavior everywhere.
I'm still working out some more conceptual changes that should make it yet some more natural or logical for that matter.
Anyway, I can't wait to see your gallery thread pop up and fill up with what I anticipate to become a masterful collection! Feels like you have a traditional background!? c:!
