Re: Stavros Gallery

There you go!
Let me say something really strange: I actually love the flatness of the ground! :? :D
You're creating this deeply dimensional scenery with the light breaking through the clouds, giving substance to those amazing flat planes and the ominous hills, which feel like they're approaching the light...waking up out of a slumber that lasted centuries if not longer. If the clouds had a similar fidelity to the ground texture, not being textured, but just having the occasional wisps at the same crispness, avoiding the blurry feeling, especially around the hole, it would be a perfect image. Sometimes it's hard to tell, really, but this one is worth exploring for more, because it just has this certain something.
Something tells me, though, you're completely full of those things, just waiting to burst out... which tells me to encourage you rather to make more than to noodle around on a single masterpiece. :geek:

Anyway, love it! There you are! :D :ob

Re: Stavros Gallery

Wow man!
Thats probably the most anybody has ever said about any artwork Ive ever done !
I have to admit I was mesmerized when this atmospheric mystical place full of light
emerged from the screen. The fractal brush is wonderful for dragging across water to suggest ripples and roughness.
Thank you for the thoughtful commentary and taking the time ( and where do you find the time to respond to EVERYBODY? )
I would like to tell you that I took a long time deliberately coaxing each pixel into place…
but Verve is so wonderful at creating beauty for you….why should I work so hard when all I have to do is turn a dial LOL!
And THAT is what I love about !
Controlled chaos
as is life
as it should be

Re: Stavros Gallery

Yes, very well Stavros! I like the overall mod of your picture and vastness of it. It looks like the little bit blured photo that you took on your vacation somewhere in Island or Norway! c:!
I would like to see more from you too!

Regarding Taron's comment. This is why I like this forum so much.. Very good and sensitive encouragement, Taron!

Re: Stavros Gallery

Stavros, your icy desert scenes have something very stylish.
I like your sense for balance.

Keep it coming!

Re: Stavros Gallery

Some new pieces exploring a minimalist watercolour approach
Verve does a nice job on such things….be nice to have some pooling, fringe and dispersion control.
They are a bit too slick….would like to dirty them up a little somehow…not sure how

Very nice results, Stavros! I like "rainy feeling" in the middle picture and morning colors in the last one. c:!

Re: Stavros Gallery

Wow, so great Stavros ! i like the 3, in particular the one in the middle because of this color/sharpness contrast. Strong composition and use of Verve liquids, so difficult to handle but not for you it seems. Congrats !

Re: Stavros Gallery

Man, you do have such a distinct abstract style, Stav! That's so graphic, while still being so organic beneath.
I believe...oh no, I shouldn't go there... but, yeah...gotta wrap up the new version. I'm also continuing to think very hard about more sophisticated dispersion approaches (or rather any!). I've added some unusual stuff already, though, that's ... ok, I'm going there, am I not!?

Anyway, great stuff! c:!
