The wispy clouds are easiest with fluid-smudge and elevated brush blending, actually. But I go back and forth between smudging and averaging, too. These were really fast and sloppy, but you can get very well defined that same way, too. The real kicker there is mostly that they go with the perspective grid, somehow creating much better depth. It's interesting how well that works, too. The grid then is merely orientation for a feeling, but it makes a heck of a difference!
hah, yes, that's all so much fun, I'm really enjoying to try different styles that way. Curious, though, how much more focus is required for line styles rather than painterly stuff. I also have to finally go back at the brushes. They're still the silly first brushes, essentially, while I had started a new class and have never continued. It should get rather exciting.
