Hey guys, first post

I decided to play around with Verve for my first time this evening, and I came up with this uhh....thing.


This is a very nice little program you made here. It's so much fun to just throw down some violent strokes and play with the paint. Can't wait to play around with it some more and maybe make some not-so-abstract stuff.

Sheeeesh, man, you're making me giddy, Blake, THAT IS SWEEEEEEET!
Totally energizing to just look at this. It's kind of voiding my mind, soaking up and silencing all exhausting thoughts, replacing them with pure ..eh... something... well, energy, I suppose.
I really hope I'm not creating any kind of accidental pressure on you, but I can't help but think I'm looking at a pure and true artist's work, knowing that this is merely a free flowing "doodle". It's in the simplicity and clarity of it, which still shows so much of what you just happen to know and how you know to let go. Still, you maintain such composition and balance... awww, I really hope I don't pressure you in any way, but I have to just tell you that!

AWESOME! ...oh, and WELCOME to the forum! ...AND thank you, of course, haha...I'm thrilled you've found Verve!!!

Really though, Verve is such a joy to work with, and I feel like I've only touched the tip of the ice berg in regards to brushes and fluidity and all that cool stuff. It's really nice to play with your program, coming off of Photoshop. Also, I was watching your Verve Demos on youtube while I painted this to learn the software, and your voice was super relaxing, haha (and your art was really impressive).

Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome! I definitely plan to post my future ventures with Verve. I also plan to give my colleagues at work an introduction to it tomorrow since I'm so excited about it .

Hi everyone,

Love the software on so many levels. Of course, room for improvement but man there's so much potential here.

The one thing I would love to see is a possibility to set values using click/keyboard enter numeric values.

Button config is a bit too stacked for my own taste. Perhaps having a double tablet interface (left and right) could help with that in order to spread the information into sections.

As I'm sure it's in the plans, a merge/stack or group all would be amazing.

Here's a quick painting I did earlier today on my first tryout of Verve painter.

I absolutely love the colors and the moist feel of it in contrast to the dry, focused layer. Just a beautiful depth!

Yes, the coming GUI will be very different and I hope and believe you could like it a lot better!
It certainly is going to be a process, but it should be a pretty powerful start, especially in terms of the technical foundation.
Verve is for all of us, which makes it very natural for me to be thrilled about everyone's ideas and I'm trying to regard them as much as possible. At the end, it may be impossible to make everyone perfectly happy, but if the key features all work and are accessible and some customization allows folks to move stuff around to their liking, it should be pretty universally pleasing, I hope.
