A way to control the Fluidity dial precisely

Amazing software. Never been anything like it.
I like to play with the Fluidity @ 100%, drying off, with a big brush and big bristles.
But sometimes I'd like to slow down the flow for a minute because there's a shape I see that I'd like to preserve. Moving the cursor is somewhat disruptive to the experience (even with the 'f' hotkey, which does help a bit). If it were possible to map the fluidity to a Midi CC fader (such as these http://global.novationmusic.com/midi-controllers/zero-sl-mkii), in an absolute sort of way, or the midi footpedal as MoatDD/Lemec/Mark rocks it.
I see there is some MIDI parsing developed in Blitzmax, as discussed here: http://www.blitzbasic.com/Community/pos ... opic=68541
In my experience, the best way to handle the UI of setting these things up is as it's handled in Ableton and FL Studio - a controller setup mode where you twiddle a dial on screen, then twiddle a knob on your controller, and voila - they're mapped, and the controller mode undoes itself (fancier version involves multi-knob setup where you twiddle GUI item, controller, next GUI item, next controller, etc, and have to push a key to end the mapping mode).
This is a little out of bounds, I know, just dreamin'.

Thanks!

Re: A way to control the Fluidity dial precisely

That's what I do, djm: Dreaming! And then I do... :D
I'll have a look at the midi stuff, sounds fun and could come in handy, because I've started a bunch of sequencers already and wouldn't mind continuing with that eventually, too! 8-)

However, set the drying speed high or even 100% and use the [d] hotkey to turn it on/off. ;)
That should freeze the fluidity pretty rapidly.

Welcome to the forum, of course! :D

Re: A way to control the Fluidity dial precisely

[d] for normal dry (with some last sub-motions)
[shift]+[S] for freeze shot (save before dry)

[F9] for freeze dry (jump motion to other layer for preserve)
then dry ... wait... after full dry, go back
