Re: Suggestions

Hi, verve is the bomb.

I've several ideas. Let's go with one at a time

Temperature painting - like boiling point (bubbles, lava) and adversely wind painting and earthquake paint(cracks / ice)

Re: Suggestions

Hahaha, yeah, that's fun stuff! Once I'm through with the basics, I'll think about those. There's A LOT OF FUN to be had with the material layers and wild physics. I'll be glad to play with that some more then.

Thanks, shadow! ;) :ob

Re: Suggestions

It's part of the plan. I still just don't have a 16bit import, which really, really sucks. I'm working it out, though. Ideally that should be 32bit, by the way, but I'm having to stick with pngs for now. I will, though, also add that you can use any image and pick the color you want as height, for example.

Re: Suggestions

Hi Taron, is it possible to limit working area by the rectangle and use all fluid engine to work only inside this rectangle? Is it too difficult to implement? It would be great to have this ability for the v33
I think we have talked about that but I am not sure. At the weekend I tested bigger resolution but the processing was too slow on my computer.

Let me describe what I think:
1. Open new drawing - as a default active area is whole painting
2. Similar to the crop functionality, we set smaller active area and confirm. As the result the active area is fully visible, the rest is little bit disabled (or transparency 50%)
3. If I change active area, all computation is stopped and ready for new area.

What do you think about it, Taron? Thanks.

Re: Suggestions

I thought about possible ways to make such a thing possible without looking like crap, but it's rough. Fluids will try to flow freely and any confinement will alter its movement. As a result you may always have some weirdness going on with borders of any kind. Maybe I'll give it a shot at some point. I thought about feathering the borders so that it essentially dampens the fluids there. We'll see.
Another thing I thought about is a variety of curious "under-the-hood" tricks to speed them up as well as custom parameters for processing grid density, you know.

Re: Suggestions

Just a tiny thing:
Zoom out is limited somehow.
To check composition, silhouette, and volume, I love to zoom the picture small (some steps away from canvas)
If you work with bigger resolutions, this is not possible in verve.
Would be lovely.
