Re: With verve into the light

Knacki!!! :bounce:
This calls for some euphoric feedback! :o :D
Your ship is raising a red flag, though! ...it's awesome, really, I love it dearly! What a great gift for Easter! c:!
You've completely managed to show a scene at night that still seems to have all the brightness dynamic available and the colors...gorgeously delicate!

It does feel like the ship has beached on a ...what on earth was that called again, when the sand comes up high unexpectedly? But it doesn't hurt the painting! :ob
Here to help! :D

Re: With verve into the light

Oh, I guess there isn't a nicer place in internet than this forum.
Thanks a lot for all these nice comments.

I tried to improve the pic a little bit, but switching on the light was a bit too much. Too surreal.
Now one is waiting for the translucent bony ghost hand, entering from the right of the picture.
A cold grab for the sailors soul.........

HA - but I am not in the mood for spooky things.
On April 7th 2014 I posted a seashore as one of my very first pics here in this forum. Funny, exactly one year later this. ;)

Wow Knacki, very nice scene. I thing I like this version little bit more then the previous one. Nice mood and colors. The clouds and water are very artistic! c:!

I think in the same way. And do you know why? It is because of the some people on this forum including you!

Re: With verve into the light

You know, Knacki, sometimes a little bit of "cheese" adds the perfect flavor! I actually like the added drama and effect in this second version very much, too! ;)
However, it confuses the sense of time a little bit. The last one was clearly at night to me, while this one could be a super cloudy day. The moon wouldn't cause such massive beams of light, even if it can cause "god rays", too, but it's far easier for the mind to associate those with the sun. So...it's a little confusing, but pretty! :geek:

Re: With verve into the light

Hey Lemi - :ob ;)

Yes taron, same prob with me. It looks cool but unreal. First one just looked more balanced.
This version wants something that explains the unreal look.
First version was itself enough.

But light is always fun, isn't it?

Re: With verve into the light

Yeah, it totally is fun to have a fancy light! I think, if you were to gradually desaturate the clouds toward the light, it would really read like a stormy late afternoon, almost twilight. Realism would shoot straight back into it, I really think so. To keep the rich blue elsewhere would give it that magical feeling that can happen in real life, even if ever so rarely.
You might then have to consider also minor changes in the water to reflect what's happening in the sky, but I'm sure it would be pretty impressive.
