Awww, man, Stavros! Thank you very, very much, my friend!
I've just resumed with some more coding, had a fun idea that worked out immediately and should add yet some more excitement. But I just have to really pull myself together and continue finishing up the rather complex gui code I've started.
I'm reluctant to do another video with the old version, not least because of all the things I've already added that make it quite more powerful as it is and I'd do loads of weird silly stuff on a futile search for the new features, hahaha. Grrrrr...
I'll do my best, I promise!

Just joined the forum, and think Verve is amazing! I'm on OSX and I am using wine, so I don't have any pressure sensitivity on my cintiq. But it doesn't matter, I'm thinking of getting a cheap PC just for this app. Anyway I thought of this paper marbling effect seen here: http://kottke.org/14/12/marbled-paper-what-a-curious-name It would be amazing if something similar could be possible in Verve. It seems like if a brush was available that could act like a comb, with distinct and evenly distributed points of contact, these types of amazing effects would be possible in Verve. Is there any plan to allow users to create their own brushes?

How did you get Verve to run on Wine?????????
I tried and failed several times.
Said it was not recognized or something
would be much easier than running windows on bootcamp
Please give some info if you can about running verve on wine on osx

double clicking verve_painter.exe, followed by that screen, running directly in default directory works
The issue could be with xQuartz, or X11 depending on its update it'll be a handful

As for content related to thread, it's a see through UI in Mischief, used for tracing. They call it 'window opacity'

Ah, if I figure out how to do that, I'll give it a go. Of course, you could always load an image into another layer.

Oh man, I totally missed that marbling suggestion up there, sorry about that! ...yes, one of the big things in the next version is the brush interface. I'll do my best to allow for all this kinds of things to happen.

What about making Verve available on Steam

Curious concept! ...I might look into that at some point, too.

A widget for brush preview, also corresponding with LMB on preview for bias AND SHIFT LMB on preview to adjust bending. SHIFT+a
Now, bias is not flexible, if there isn't a hidden feature?.
N#2 is always round N#9 is flat. But what if I could SHIFT+LMB on preview and change bending of brush N# 2 to something less bended?

Target is to have a brush like a fan brush:

A fan is very very cool to paint multiple leaves and still keep the feel they belong to a big branch which smaller branches are grown horizontal.

But just to define the brush shape not like a half moon only will give one lot more possibilities.
If these are possible to save...
And if you have then a pallete where you can mix your colors and the brush will take the color mix - I guess a lot of things are done

ALT+SHIFT+LMB would be cool to have straight lines instead of pan. Drop, or animate a stroke along the line (with a bit adjustable random? ) on release LMB.

Ugh, things will get a lot crazier in the next real update, Knacki! I already have custom brush images which you can animate, allowing you to create any kind of brush shape you like and even control how it changes as you paint. This will make possibilities pretty much, uhm... infinite.
I do, however, want to explore some more simulation approaches for bristles, just for fun, actually.

I'm kind of kicking myself, that I haven't released any of those updates, yet.

Are in next version the other brushes working without stepping during fast strokes? That would be very lovely.

About bristles: Uneven bristle size, or i.e. left big right small bristles - would be cool too. Simulation of an old brush.
And color mixing on brush for sure.

I tried Artrage yesterday for this. That is an uncool solution. Me, I would go constantly use the same color mix once taken. No mixing and fading while you are painting. Reality is not always better I would say.
That could speed up things quite a lot for painting.
