Re: Suggestions

I think, ArtRage's problem is the rest of the behavior, which makes their take on "reality" so unfavorable. It takes a lot of practice and even more patience to get a good groove on with their solution. I used to be kind of good with it, but it wasn't fun for the longest time.
In Verve you do not have such struggles, that's for sure. But in the upcoming versions I was planning on introducing something of that kind, too, because it would actually be pretty awesome in the right context.
I will work out a nice solution for the bristle behavior to become a choice as well, allowing thick bristles to be lines, too. Some things I haven't written yet and will be an "outstanding" challenge, hahaha...as in...not done, yet, and interesting. :geek:

Re: Suggestions

It Would be nice to have palette for color mixing and color checker for mixed color checking on reference image (even if reference is open in different program).
Also custom color presets would be nice :)

Re: Suggestions

A proper pallet and swatches are coming!
Picking color from the desktop will be another challenge, but I'll look into it. ;)

Re: Suggestions

This would be nice, maybe also some other color scheme designer like here: http://www.colorschemedesigner.com/ ?

And about color-pickers, there is a color-picker plugin for firefox (opensource) - maybe you can get the code & translate for verve? Just an idea - from an non-programer like me, because plugins for firefox are also written in c++ https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/colorzilla/ or https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/colorpicker/

Re: Suggestions

Guys, those are very nice inspirations, thank you. Verve will have the color pickers it will tell me it wants. :ugeek: ...I've got some ideas for a long time already, which should get pretty nice. But most important to me is that it should feel simple and easy. I wouldn't want people to spend to much time trying to think of which color picker to use, you know. It all should feel natural and immediate with maybe some fun options and I had ideas for that even when I wrote MaCrea (Material Creator) many years ago.
The most exciting thing will be the pallet, trust me!
And, Zero, I forgive you again. ;)

Re: Suggestions

A palette in which I can mix my colors - where I can choose if it's just one color, or the color mix which is taken - where I can define which material my color has, ,more metallic & glossy or not glossy - and individual bumpiness??????? :D :D
Argh - you wanted to keep it simple :(

One has to recognize, that most things will be barley used, but takes a hell of time to create.
First things first.

Re: Suggestions

Simple AND intuitive, which may well include material properties as well for the pallet! ;)

Re: Suggestions

Yes, keep it simple :ob ... but what about the idea, that other users could help you not by coding or somth. but with plugin-building? :ob - like in Firofox, or like in some graphic tools like blender, photoshop and so on, a plugin interface, maybe compatible with 8bf photoshop plugins, or gimp plugins??

Re: Suggestions

That would be a long term goal for sure. I would have to create a proper sdk for that!
