Re: GBoGBo's random stuff

lol Ovn1 I suspect that Gbo can imitate any tartan using this method. I like the last one Gbo  It starts to take on a cloth appearance here!

Re: GBoGBo's random stuff

Thanks Ovn1 ! Yes i can playout any pattern from http://www.weddslist.com/cgi-bin/tartan ... source=sts, but with "s5" setting, in order to get the real, quote, "twill pattern which characterises tartans, with each warp thread going over two weft threads then under two weft threads, and vice versa."

Same program, now a close-up in which i left some gap between the "wires" and made use of brush #9 with 4% BRISTLE + oscillation to give a hand-painted effect :

Same program, more bristle and nearly no gap between the wires this time.
Brush #9 with 10% BRISTLE + medium oscillation + a few BRI HUE, some fluidity, a bit of opacity tweaking (convenient to control the amount of gap !).

Re: GBoGBo's random stuff

Sweet, that really shows what it can do :D I am wondering how a bold pattern would look in grey values and then imported into Zbrush as an alpha for use in the noise generator hmmm c:! Something tech

Re: GBoGBo's random stuff

Hi Tartan, thank you for your interest.
I'm not familiar with Zbrush but I have put the *.vrv here i you want to try things : http://gbotet.perso.sfr.fr/vrv16/vrv/
(I have greyed the last one by painting dry above with BUILD UP = 0%. The OPACITY buttons can be used to vary the gap between wires).

Re: GBoGBo's random stuff

Thanks Gbo. I will definitely give them a try and post back later after I experiment in Zbrush. I am trying to find the right combination to use in my Moons image on the towers :D

Re: GBoGBo's random stuff

You don't need to "gray" them for export. Just export components and use the mat component as alpha. You may have to convert it, because zbrush used to have some format troubles with png, but it would work just great, if converted properly.

Re: GBoGBo's random stuff

Thanks Taron and again thank you Gbo. I have only used the noise generator in it once but it is extremely powerful. I am thinking Gbos process could be used for some really detailed pieces. Again something to experiment with. :ob
