Yeah, that's cute! I remember this or something like this from many years ago. Even a blitzmax thing, if I remember correctly?!

Re: Suggestions

Taron,

I read your statement here http://www.taron.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=194&p=2289#p2289 and must say that your points are very understandable.
On the other hand, some tools are just too amazing to be missed.

If possible an psd export-import would solve a bunch of requests. If licensing is not causing troubles?
A picture import and import pic as layer could be a solution too.
In that way, a lot of stuff could be solved in other applications.
Sure, there are a bunch of problems which I don't want to solve.
One I can imagine is: How to get bumps and lights back to verve once exported?
Anyway, I guess this could be easiest way to avoid spending endless time in functions already available.

Coming back to your point, getting verve an even more exceptional natural drawing app It could be handy to have some random influences for brushes and brushes load and built ups.
In build up it could simulate crumps and an uneven load of brush.

Supercool would be not a full random like in brush 3, but an animated brush between some close random points, to create something in-between brush 2 and 3.

Some random to avoid repetitions in brush strokes.

I am sure, you have already some randoms in there. ;)

Re: Suggestions

That goes back to the whole new brush system I still have planned. It will be quite different, but allow for some rather fascinating stuff to be dialed in. I'm excited, but I just have to get to it, darned...

PSD format is just a bitch from what I saw and heard. Similar to my project files, a PSD can contain many settings of photoshop, but all are kind of heritage like convoluted and unless your intimately familiar with the formats purpose, it's tough to unravel it or put back together. One of these days I'll have a go at it, though. I don't think there are licensing issues attached.

What problems are there with other applications and 16bit pngs? Are there any troubles?

As soon as I've got import, I'll have import of height/bump only as well! ;)

SO, yeah, all is well and all sounds good. I think there are plenty of reasons to cheer for the near future! :D

No problems on my side with png's but using psd was part of an idea to have finally a kind of "GoPSD" plug to quickly exchange between those apps? :)
As there is the inventor of Lazy Nezumi also part of this community (even though not long posted anything) we maybe could get some support for the photoshop plug in from his side, if it's too much for you?

:D
If it's finally a one button solution, it would be easiest to do everything possible without spending time to invent the wheel again.

That would fullfill a big amount of wishes, wouldn't it?

And of course my ever lasting wish to have stroke recording or another possibility to create film clips with verve. That would be so freaking amazing!

Re: Suggestions

Came to mind. :)
If I recall right, one or more of the usual "paint program" suspects had it possible to pick colors from outside the window it was running in. Basically enabling you to color pick anything that is on the screen(s). Perhaps it was Corel? Either way..
I wonder if that would be easy to implement. If so.. the gain from it speaks for itself I suppose.
