Background Canvas Colour Selection

Changing the canvas colour also changes background area around outside of canvas.
I find this very distracting and hard to gage colours in the canvas area when painting on a dark background for example.
I would prefer the outside area to remain a neutral grey.
Would it be possible to have a separate colour selector for each.
One for canvas paper colour and another for area outside the canvas
Perhaps p and option or shift p
Thanks

I was also thinking it might be very nice if this was a sort of live mode so you can see the colour updating as you select it.
where you hit p to activate background colour selection
select a colour and see a realtime update of the background or canvas as you are selecting
and then commit the colour with another click of the p
Just a thought

Re: Suggestions

Wahahaha..... that's funny, too.... how to lose the light?!
Well...hit Shift Home and see what happens... I'm typing my fingers off while you could just hit two buttons... ... OR read the docs, but yeah, Shift Home resets the window.
Here to help! :D

Re: Suggestions

Taron, for sure I searched the manual and the update section before. ;)

I am looking for a possibility to reset light position to default.

My suggestion wasn't best because SHIFT + HOME is already occupied to reset window, which I could have resaerched. This lead to a misunderstanding, sorry.
If you move heavily around with light (like I did when I found the micro preset), it happens easily to loose orientation, the lights position.
It would be lovely to reset light position.
Is that possible already?

Re: Suggestions

Not Light only... just global defaults after clearing the image...which is kinda of like a restart anyway. Grrrr...I really, really should get to make the proper GUI design to have all the features properly editable. Hmmm... I think I might change Shift Home to reset light instead. I don't like a totally snug window anyway. So, yeah, good call and no worries! I'm just being a little prickly today. :P

Re: Suggestions

Well I also have no idea! : )
But maybe zbrush and 3d-coat applications are a good clue because both allow "app-link" are.
Adobe also welcomed the proposal will probably
Photoshop scripting perhaps not so complicated!
And certainly there are people who can help you.
Do think! Even just one natural-fluid-ed layer (watercolor/oil) without too much effects for Photoshop users will find interesting.
It also features a quick color correction in Photoshop, for example, the power would multiply verve.
Perhaps it is simply a copy and paste !
please study :
photoshop to zbrush
& Photoshop to 3d-coat

Re: Suggestions

Have to say i think Verve is way more than just a funny Photoshop plugin. ;)
Give Verve a little more time and Adobe will beg to App-Link
And then Taron gets to go
Image

Some of Taron's previous statements about the .psd format ... Sounds like it's a hard nut :?
