I have a feeling he will forgive us! ;)
Yeah, 4096 sends my machine into despair, too. I just get a black canvas, though, no crash.
Here to help! :D

Re: Lord Insectord gives suggestions

Starting with 800x600 up to 3200x2400 two layers only, third will paint black, fourth layer won't paint anyway, but no crash.
Rest is same as described. Some doubling are ending with no crash, but black or white canvas, some are crashing.

Re: Lord Insectord gives suggestions

Yello!, been away for a long time and I see now there is a cool way to set resolutions but... is there a quick way to set a square format?

If I may, I would suggest to use CTRL (along corner dragging) to constrain to square format, then CTRL+SHIFT (drag) to go change in increments 256 > 512 > 1024
Mainly because with a tablet (the smaller the worse) is quite difficult to be precise when it comes to number sliders.

Cheers!

ZAFIO, man, I totally miss you for all that time! I was afraid something ticked you off and you didn't care anymore or so... :(
I'm just happy you're back! :bounce:

You can zoom in while you adjust the crop! That way it's very easy to get exact values, actually! :geek: :D
But I was thinking about offering a number of standard resolutions for textures and tv. (256x256, 1920x1080) this sort of stuff.
It'll all come as soon as I finally find enough time again...

Re: Lord Insectord gives suggestions

Can anyone explain exactly what that Exception Access Violation Error means?
Hardware? Software?
Seems to pop up around 4k regardless of the cards Ive tested.

Re: Lord Insectord gives suggestions

From my experience this relates to a card issue in case of Verve. However, it means it tries to access memory that cannot be read.
And may I ask: you really expected Verve to handle 4k images? :o
I have invited trouble by not restricting image sizes anymore, haha, but 4k is like...eh...asking for NASA support on your fluid dynamics, hehehe. I would normally suggest not to go about 2k, while that is still actually kind of working nice even on my card. At around 3k things get ugly for me.

Re: Lord Insectord gives suggestions

Is it possible, that once a day ... verve did work not only with the GPU/VRAM? Would be fine, if a part could work with RAM :ob ... somth. more a hybrid? This would be so great. I love Verve so so much dear taron, but I will use my 550Ti (1GB VRAM) as long as I can  ... but it works fine until 4 Megapixels even with 2-3 layers, but more as 4.3-4.5 Megapixels I get first problems and 5 megapixels its defenitly impossible with my current GPU (black screen).

But its okay, my SIGMA DP2s did have also only 4MEGPIXEL and I love this cam so much :) ... and its okay for prints until A3, because Posters can have only 100-150dpi :ob and thats fine too :ob .. and your program I love it like my dp2s ... smart but very great and even unique ;)

Re: Lord Insectord gives suggestions

Not sure, if my math is correct there, but 4 megapixels is not 4k, is it? 4k would rather be 16 Megapixels. :?

Anyway, such a hybrid thing is a future matter when those machines become ordinary. I think I've heard of some development in that direction. However, on conventional machines from now this would never work, because of the bottleneck between graphics card and cpu memory. No fluids possible at all. It would be a different program.

I'm really happy about your attitude, though, that's awesome and very encouraging! :ob :D
