If you can undo with [Ctrl]+[z], ... [z] should work for you as well, i bet. Must be the same button?
Try a simple one, draw a stroke, hold down [z] and draw over it again.
Just like you hold down [n] while drawing to get the random colors

Okay, ... how about,

[MMB] for Pan, as it is now,
[Ctrl]+[MMB] for Zoom and
[Alt]+[MMB] for Canvas Rotation?
[Shift]+ [MMB] could Reset the View like [Home] does now or, can be Canvas Tilt, eventually

All [MMB] related, seems nice? :ugeek:

... i imagine i would use the Canvas Rotation more often if it wasn't such a monkey grab :roll:

Ah ok it's more clrear!
I had believed that z undo all the last painting like CTRL + Z!

So like this, it's running fine! 8-)

Once I clean up my act and enable customization you can hook everything you like to [MMB]. I won't.

...there's no middle mouse button on the pen and using two mouse buttons is already leading to complications, but to heavily involve the third beyond panning.... that really curls an extra knot into anybody's brains.

Anyway, I've got enough on my plate right now to simply mildly ignore this for a moment, if you forgive me!?

This makes me confident that we get the "Magnify Glass" to work as well

Same thing but in Warp mode this time, hold down [Ctrl]+[Shift] like you would for Average and paint
Best to use a solid Brush like #1
