But go ahead and paint something. Don´t bother with the result. During the time you will get more experience and good results. I am pretty sure!

If I can suggest for the start point have a look on some of the Taron's videos or find plenty of tutorials on youtube. I started to "learn" 6 month ago for example from these artists:
