Re: Dev Diary

Our Mister Taron is, as it shows up, a truly genious

From FXguide:

"ADF is actually something that started as a 3D tool, so while Mischief is very much a 2D paint tool, it took the MODO team in California almost no time to realize that the ADF technology could be used for better modelling and sculpting tools or new forms of three dimensional paint. In fact, not content to stop there, Brad Peebler, The Foundry’s President of the Americas and co-founder of Luxology, started getting some old friends and hard core programming types to take the patented ADF technology and experiment with it. Literally, he immediately hired some incredibly talented freelancers to experiment in partnership with Frisken, and just play with the technology. The early results are pretty impressive, and went beyond what anyone expected.

One of those engineers/artist that Pebbler got is Taron (aka Timur Baysal). If you have been researching cutting edge texturing and painting tech you may have seen his app Verve. It is remarkable and inspiringly realistic for oils and actual paints. Verve actually paints using fluid simulations and as remarkable as it is, “it’s going to get a massive update soon,” fxguide has learnt. Peebler described Taron recently to fxguide as “an incredible human, phenomenal artist and inspiring programmer.” But Verve is not based on ADF…it was just a quick side product Taron came up with…(remarkably!)."

Re: Dev Diary

Whahaha  ... thanks, Intars, but all you owe me is some trust that I love doing this for all of us. When the time comes, I'll be happy to find myself amongst people, who recognize the value of supporting my efforts, should that need ever arise. But as long as I can help it, I will not attach any conditions for you to be with me on this creative journey! :ugeek: ...other than that I want to see what you do with it, of course! 8-)

Genius mind....hmmm.... :PP ...there, all better! :D

Re: Dev Diary

Oh no, I don't work at the Foundry, no, sire, no...hehe. I mean, I'm working on a project, associated with the Foundry...eh...maybe that's kind of like the same thing, I don't know, but I'm not an employee or contractor to them. So don't misread that, please. Although, I am in a way freelancing, but "free" is presently most descriptive of our relationship, hehe. Seems like a neat gang, though! :)

Re: Dev Diary

Wow, that card is popular!!! Makes sense to me! :geek:
Hey, Nezumi! No, no, I'm fine. I'm having to make some challenging decisions in the design and want to make it right, you know. That's sometimes a bit of a hold-up as I take my time to really ponder carefully and play around enough to remain capable of making some decent judgments.
We shall see...but things are only getting better. I found so many stupid little things, I'm so happy I'm taking my time this time around.
THANKS FOR ASKING, though! That's very sweet!

Re: Dev Diary

I keep checking in to see if there are any 'save preset' functions I can use. Right now my life moves so fast it is hard to sit down and paint enough for the verve interface to become second nature and in my human weakness I loose patience for it. You must know this though Taron, I love this tool and I am excited to see where it goes. Maybe after the turn of the year I will have more slow time to explore and if I do, I will post more of my efforts. Till next time. :D

Re: Dev Diary

I'm so looking forward to it, David! You can save presets already. Either save the vrv project, which contains most of the settings, or choose "settings (*.vrs)" when you want to save, which will only save all settings, including all brushes!

But the next version should be a whole lot more sophisticated in that regard as well! :geek:
Oh, and no worries, man, nothing is running away, really. Imagine you'd have to chase after a pencil and paper! :bounce:
