Fire part was really easy and fun, ice part was tough, spent a lot of time on that, sorry for the late submission.

Re: Sketch #000007 - "Fire&Ice"

Funny idea Mike, and clever use of the low saturation to enhance the specifics colors of blue and red.

Very nice render VirtueOne ! Maybe you could try to add a reflection of the fire in the ice ? Just to reduce the feeling of two parts separated. Just an idea.

Re: Sketch #000007 - "Fire&Ice"

Boy am I in awe...just cool (and hot), VirtueOne. I totally understand what dba is suggesting, but I think it would hurt the perspective a bit. I would probably rather split of little meteorites from the fire-comet and have them streak into the atmosphere. It would bring fire across the threshold and weave them together, I'm sure. :geek:
But- either way- this is totally gorgeous. Love it all!

AH, hm....actually that was about the use of other painters like flamepainter or so. If you want to tweak colors or have fun with some PS effects, well... my bad, but your discretion, of course. I just didn't want to have someone paint with some other painter and then tweak a little with Verve, you know. It's cool, if they want to do that, but it shouldn't be in the daily sketches on the Verve forum, I think. I just don't want it too seem like Verve would be awesome, when it's only used as a silly little tweak utility. :(
The other way around: Anytime! ;)
But I'd still be happiest, if it was Verve only for the clarity alone! :)
